Boker Plus M3 Trench Knife

Product Description

Designed in 1943, the M3 Trench Knife was intended to be used by any U.S. soldier during World War II who was not equipped with a bayonet - soldiers with pistols, submachine guns, light and heavy machine guns, etc. The first troops to receive the M3's were the Airborne, Mountain Ranger and Glider infantry units. Among the nine manufacturers who produced the M3 during wartime was H. Boker & Co., with a total of 31,300 pieces, which was the smallest quantity. For the 65th anniversary, Boker Plus reintroduced this classic piece of combat cutlery, along with a reproduction metal U.S. M8A1 scabbard. The black coated blade is made of high carbon SK-5 steel and features the original H. Boker & Co. blade tang. The handle is made of stacked leather pieces. To ensure the quality of the M3, each knife features a laser engraved serial number. Weighs 8.4 ounce.

5Excellent
By C. Wagner
Really a nice knife and scabbard. Apparently, made in Germany, rather than you know where. This knife actually compares well with my U.S. M3 dagger, which appears to be a variant of the M16Al M7 bayonet. The Boker blade is the same length as the U.S. M3, but the stacked leather handle is a bit longer. However, the leather grip is really more professional looking than the plastic grips on the U.S. model and on the M7 bayonet. For some reason, the company shipped a spare scabbard with the knife and it works well with my U.S. M3 and the M7 bayonet, although it is not as tight a fit as with the U.S. scabbard and will rattle a bit, making it somewhat of a problem for stealth missions, but I prefer to avoid such activity and do not care. Otherwise, this is an excellent collectible for the money.

5Boker Plus 02BO1943 M3 Trench Fixed Blade Knife
By D'veed
When I ordered this knife I was a bit apprehensive. It was more expensive, Boker gets them from China, Ontario makes the same thing, and I've had good experiences with Ontario's Spec-Plus knives. I got one from each of them. Whoa! The Boker is worth every bit of its extra price. The quality is outstanding. The finish on the leather handle is on a par with the Ka-bar; and that's good! The blade is good steel and reminds me of the blade on my M-14's bayonet. It comes in a bayonet sheath that must be one of the heaviest in the world! Solid metal, good looking and I'd suggest you replace it ASAP with a Ka-Bar Kydex Sheath! So much lighter. This is a quality product from start to finish.
