This is by far the best bayonet I've owned. Few things can live up to the standard "Military Issue", this is one of them. For those who want a functional bayonet, jump on this one. For those who want one just for show, then go somewhere else to get a hunk of useless metal. The scabbard is tight, it's suppose to be. If it's not then we'd have knives flailing about, not good. If you keep it oiled and happy, it will keep you happy. It's not the sharpest of knives, but it's not suppose to be. It's meant for a stabbing motion, and that it does wonderfully. It's also full tang, and it's sturdy, the locking plate is tight. It kept on while firing on a Mossberg 590A1, and an AR15, and stabbing quite a number of objects with different densities. For the money, you can't get any better than this.

Its Mil Spec. Fits A2 style front post sight w/ lug and birdcage. Typical Ontario Knives quality. Be careful, its super sharp. Apply a generous amount of oil to protect the finish as the Scabbard is designed to fit fully snug.

I had shopped for a long time to find the Ontario Bayonet for the right price. I had about given up and was going to resort to a Chinese or lesser manufacturer to get one for a better price and I gave it one more try and found it at Amazon. This is the real thing, genuine USA Ontario with Scabbard just like we had in the service. It came not in the Scabbard but with it. As soon as you slide it in the Scabbard it scratches the blade surface. Alas they all do. Some say to grease it to keep it down but hey, it's going to get scratched anyway so grit your teeth and slide it in. It fit perfectly on my AR-15 M-4 and looks great. I'm happy with it and the price is the best I've found. I doubt I'll take it to range with it on because it looks quite ominous. AR's scare people anyway and this surely doesn't help any. Big Smile here.
